Level of Care Determination Process

In our Kennewick memory care community, care-related charges—referred to as levels of care—are determined through a comprehensive assessment conducted by our Health Services Team in close collaboration with the Resident and their support network. From the very beginning, this personalized evaluation is designed to ensure clarity, transparency, and fairness. Most importantly, it allows us to provide dementia care that is thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s specific needs, abilities, and preferences.

During this detailed assessment process, support needs are carefully reviewed across activities of daily living, including mobility, personal care, and medication management. In addition, we consider overall health, cognitive changes, and safety requirements. Points are then assigned based on the level of assistance required. As a result, these totals determine the appropriate memory care level and corresponding support plan.

Because Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia naturally progress over time, care needs may change. For this reason, our tiered care structure is designed to adapt accordingly. Through ongoing evaluations and consistent communication, we ensure Residents continue receiving the right level of support while maintaining dignity, safety, and quality of life.
